visual response 4: authentic experience

The dog park for both my dog Zealand and myself, is one of the most truely happy places, and there is not much more authentic than a happy dog. (you should see him explode through the gates to only run in circles around the park in complete glee.)

Authentic Portland Landscape Architecture: response 3

Portland's strongest characteristic to me is its parks. These pieces of landscape architecture are more well known and respected than nearly any single piece of architecture. This photo shows Tom McCall waterfront park that holds much of the most valued land in the city.

home grown authenticity

Part of the attraction of the UO was its location here in the north west and my wife and i want to do all of these "Portland things". One of which seems to be having lots of plants at home, so being broke we decided we should plant them from scratch...well it has been almost 2 weeks and finally today i noticed the first sprouts. Although this will be a long process to get a full and lush potted plant there is a feeling of ownership and maybe even authenticity to growing things yourself.
